The Oh Boy Oberto Redfish Cup, Redfish Tour and FLW Wal-mart Redfish Series tournaments were patterned after popular national bass tournaments that travel the seaboards in search of the best Redfishing in the country. The Redfish Cup is a professional red fishing series made up of 5 tournaments including a championship. The series is a high stakes, made for TV event featuring the top 40 Redfish Cup teams over the past 3 years. The tournaments are 3-day events from Friday to Sunday. On each tour stop, the first two days are qualifying days to find the top five teams. Those five teams will then make the television show for that event. Each event for the 2008 season will have three television shows to be aired on ESPN2 during weekend afternoons in the 3:00 - 5:00 PM time slot. The show have traditionally ranged from 30 minutes to an hour long.

Their search will carry them from the marshes of Louisiana to the Mangrove islands of Florida to the sand flats of Texas and to the massive tides of the Carolinas. The 80 million households who watch ESPN2 will get to view this new, innovative fishing experience on Saturday mornings. JM Associates will cover all five of the three-day tournaments, catching the excitement of competitive Redfishing. They will log about 17,000 miles and spend approximately 3 months on the road. Attendance ranges from 1,000 to 4,000 per event.

Capt. Scott Hughes is a 3rd generation native Floridian, born in Ft. Myers. He is a fulltime fishing guide and professional tournament angler operating his charter service out of

South West Florida. With his practice techniques and his ability to find tournament winning fish Capt. Scott Hughes is one of the best redfish anglers in the nation having won tournaments on 3 major tours. He holds a B.S. of Health and Science from Troy State University. Many of his customers are very experienced fishermen and book him to catch trophy sized fish. He grew up on Lake Okeechobee and also runs guided bass fishing trips on the lake and airboat trips into the Everglades for some of the best bass fishing in the country.
