Blackwater Charters

With Capt. Scott Hughes

Here are some photo's from some of my fishing in 2003. Most are from guided charters but a few are from my own fishing trips.

This redfish came from deep in the backcountry of the 10,000 Islands. (January 2003)

We caught this nice sailfish just offshore of Jupiter. (June 2003)

This Marco Island tarpon was well over 100 pounds. (March 2003)

This 17 pound jack crevelle  put up quite a battle on 20-pound test. (March 2003)

Early season snook from the 10,000 Islands. (April 2003)

Sharks like this spinner shark are common catches while fishing in the spring. ( Marco Island, April 2003)

These 15-18 pound king mackerel were caught off Marco Island during their spring migration. They make another run in the fall. (May 2003)

This 40-inch snook hit a live sardine. (Marco Island, June 2003)

we catch small tarpon like this 25 pounder on plugs in the summer. (Punta Gorda, June 2003)

"Beach Tarpon" off Sanibel. We catch tarpon along the beaches from May until as late as October sometimes. (July 2003)

Mahi Mahi on fly. This 6 pounder hit about 3 miles offshore. (Jupiter, July 2003)

Another sailfish that we caught this summer. This one hit a free lined sardine off Juno Beach. (July 2003)

Fishing for tarpon in Charlotte Harbor is a blast! Alan Biller captured this great shot of a late season tarpon in Charlotte Harbor. This one hit a 5-inch plastic lure. (August 2003)

Alan also got in on the action with this 34-inch, 13-pound snook. ( Pine Island, August 2003)

Kirk Zucal shows off a nice 10,000 island snook. (Marco Island, April 2003)

Adam Zucal with a pair of spanish mackerel caught on topwater lures. (Marco Island, April 2003)

Big redfish like this one are a hand full to get out from under heavy mangrove cover. (September 2003)

More redfish that were caught out of the mangroves.

A double header off the beach of Captiva Island. (September 2003)

We found these 20 and 16 pound redfish in a school in Charlotte Harbor (Pine Island, October 2003)

This 23 pound redfish was part of the school also. (Pine Island, October 2003)

The Zucal family came back in November for some more action with these big school redfish. (Punta Gorda, November2003)

Triple Header! 3 of about 60 school size redfish we caught that day. (Punta Gorda, November 2003)

A nice snook from backcountry creek in the 10,000 Islands. Notice how low the water is in the background. (December 2003)
